NUR Foundation & Fatima Memorial System (NUR-FMS) held its inaugural SADA-e-NUR distribution event for its employees and the community at General Attiq-ur-Rehman Auditorium of Fatima Memorial Hospital whereby rikshaws, sewing machines and food rations were disseminated.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the National Anthem; Mrs. Shahima Rehman gave a brief introduction on SADA-e-NUR and its mission to form a dedicated group of passionate Pakistanis to come together and work towards a common motto: Our Citizens – Our Responsibility

In attendance were Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan- Provincial Minister for Education & Youth Affairs, Mr. Habib-ur-Rehman Gillani – Secretary Zakat, Government of Punjab, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rahim – Jamia Ashrafia, Maulana Raghib Hussain Naeemi – Jamia Naeemia, Mrs. Shahima Rehman- Chairperson, Executive Committee, Fatima Memorial System, Tariq Rehman – Chairman, Board of Management FMH College of Medicine & Dentistry, Prof. Jamshed Nasir – Acting Principal, FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry, Prof. Nazia Yazdanie – Principal, FMH College of Dentistry, Prof. Abid Ashar – Vice Principal, FMH College of Dentistry, Faculty Members, Management team and the students of FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry, FMH Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Saida Waheed FMH College of Nursing and the NUR Student Leadership program.

In keeping with the motto, Our Citizens – Our Responsibility: NUR Foundation entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Punjab Vocational Training Council to conduct a Social Enterprise Incubator Program on the 8th of July 2015. The Program will induct graduates from the Punjab Vocational Training Institute of Shadman and Punjab Vocational Training Institute of Nainsukh, conduct capacity building workshops, mentor sessions and business development exercises for the selected candidates. Based on a competitive process at the maturity of the incubation, winners will be funded by the Department of Zakat and Ushr for their business launch – It is hoped with this endeavor these graduates can become financially independent and become productive members of society.

This was the inaugural SADA-e-NUR distribution event and with the support of donors and philanthropists; it is hoped that it continues with countless more events to provide financial stability and security to the community who deserve it the most..
